Get Well Soon Elicia!

We made cards for Elicia. She has been very sick. We really miss her smiling, happy face, and hope she can come back to school soon. Enjoy your cards Elicia.

Snow Angels

Today the ground looked like it was snowing. Erica, Maya and me skied on the ice. The water fountains froze over. Some people wrote their names in the ice. Some people lay on their backs. It felt freezing and our hands froze off. We're lucky that we've got great heaters in our classroom.

Rattle ya dags, it's Kiwiana Day!

On Thursday we had a Kiwiana day to celebrate the end of our inquiry topic on Kiwiana.  We had a great day!  It began with some games........Who could eat a dry Weetbix the fastest?  Pin the dag on the sheep, and a Gumboot throwing competition.
WOW!  I've never seen anyone eat Weetbix that fast!  Congratulations Millie for being the winner.  You really did need a drink after that!

Deon had excellent aim when he pinned his dag on the sheep.  It was perfectly placed and he jumped up and down when he took his blindfold off.  Great work Deon.  There were 3 others that were oh so close - Arlya, Niklas, and Josh.  Great effort guys!

And Boy!  Did you guys throw your gumboots or what??  One, Two, Three..... and they were thrown down the school field.  Janaya has a jolly good arm, and managed to sneak the lead away from Millie, Jack S and Rebecca........and the others weren't too far behind either!  Awesome!

Then it was Kai time.  A huge army of parent help arrived and we broke into groups to bake ANZAC biscuits, hokey pokey and decorate pavlovas with cream, kiwifruit, pineapple lumps and jaffas.  Yummy kiwiana food!  We also ate Chesdale Cheese slices and drank L&P.  What a fun day we had - thanks to all the parents for their help, we couldn't do it without you!

Topical Blog of the Week.....

Olivia and Janaya noticed something that they wanted to share......

Me and Janaya think that the school should be spotless and no rubbish!  And when we were up the hill we saw heaps and heaps of rubbish!  Then the next morning it happened again.  Why do people litter?  And we all should think about the environment.  We should look after the earth.  Please make a comment about the rubbish.  If you are from another school please tell us about your rubbish.
